Artist: Rebecca Lovatt
Title: "Alive"
Audience: I believe that the audience for this song are going to be young people from around early teens to late/mid twenties. The musical style is a mixture of folk, pop and blues and could possibly appeal to an older audience but due to the age of the artist I believe it would particularly appeal to a younger audience. The music appeals to the target audience by having a theme in the song which will appeal to the audience- love, a theme which is often found in the music genre the blues. The song lacks major instrument use and techno beats and keeps an acoustic style which I think the target audience will like because it keeps the music raw and peaceful like the folk music it is inspired by. The voice of the artist also helps it appeal to the target audience because in addition to the theme of the song it gives off a pleasant and relaxing vibe to the song.

Title:"Hard In The Paint"
Audience:The target audience would be a mainly male target audience in their teens to early twenties due to the genre of the song being grime. The song could attract a possible dub step audience due to grime and dubstep both originating from the same target audience but I feel this would be unlikely because the styles of the two genres are now drastically different. This song will appeal to the target audience because of the delivery of the lyrics which is very typical of grime artist, it will also appeal to the target audience by the use of techno beats instead of real instruments. The lyrcis also appeal to the target audience by referencing subjects the male audience will be familiar with such as football.
Artist: After The Ice
Title: "It Happens All The Time"
Audience: The target audience for this would be a male and female audience from late teens to mid thirties who have an interest in Englishh rock bands like "Muse" due to the similar style of music. I think the music appeals to it's target audience by the varied use of instruments and vocals which are put together in a way which harkens back to old rock bands like "The Clash" while still feeling modern, with that in mind I think it is possible the song could appeal to an even older target audience of 45-55 because of the similarities the music has with old rock aswell as modern rock.
Music Videos That Inspire Me:
Bruno Mars-Lazy Song
This video inspires me because it does so much with so little. It appears to be done in one take which I find very impressive and uses seven people to create a video which keeps me glued to the screen for the entire song. The use of costumes and monkey masks is genius and immediately sticks in my mind. I find that this video shows that alot can be achieved with very little and it sets a standard I hope I can achieve with my own music video.
Dr. Dre ft Eminem & Skylar Grey
I really like this video because of the prelude before the song which sets up a story for the video while splicing footage from previous Dr. Dre videos and documentories which makes the song seem more intimate and personal because we've seen parts of his life which are personal. In the prelude although not said it's as if you can feel Dr. Dre's sadness at the loss of his loved ones and friends as we they show Dr. Dre with sad facial expressions on seeing the now deceased 2pac. When the music starts I like the way that we don't see Dr. Dre awake until the very end which makes his eventual return all the more magnificent because the audience has seen him at his lowest and then get to see him picking himself up and turning his life around.
Eminem ft. Dido- Stan
I really like this video because it's practically a film in itself. The video works brilliant with the music and adds so much more to the song. I like the way the story unfolds as the song goes along and I also like the cinematography of the video (, it reminds me of David Fincher's "Zodiac",) which makes the video seem more epic and of greater importance. I really like the way the camera movment and shot layouts become more erratic as the song comes to a climax.
Oasis- The Importance Of Being Idle
I like the way in this video that they've made the song look like it was filmed in the sixties with accurate props and cinematography. I also like the way the video is very simplistic but little gags like the coffin being put together and dancing undertakers make the video all the more interesting. It also features a very nice appearance by an actor I'm rather fond of who I think brings the video to life.
The Black Keys- Tighten Up
I like the video for this song because like "The Lazy Song" it does alot with very little. The video is pleasant and easy to follow with a funny story to go with an alright song. I like the use of child actors to make the bulk of the video and I think it works very well. I also like the way the children are in sync with the lyrics of the song, I just think it adds to the video and makes it more interesting. The way the video snaps out of the song is effective and I think helps the video.
